![]() ![]() StorageCraft has a highly annoying 7-minute boot from CD to restore an image StorageCraft creates the backup image faster than Acronis StorageCraft makes creating a backup very simple StorageCraft seems rock solid and dependable. StorageCraft for 2 years, right now on version 5.0.2 MACRIUM REFLECT VS ACRONIS INSTALLI have run Acronis and StorageCraft at home for years.Īcronis for 9 years, right now on version 12Īcronis lets me install one license on both of my home machines.Īcronis has a very simple way to click inside Windows to restore an image.Īcronis is flakey and some weird menus and behaviour, and this is why I installed StorageCraft a few years ago. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any more questions about StorageCraft products. You may activate/deactivate your licenses on your machines however you want to. This also works to migrate a license on a physical system to a virtual system. You can then activate the unassigned license on a new system. To move a license from one machine to another (for example when decommissioning a production system) simply open the ShadowProtect UI, connect to the machine (local or remote) and deactivate the license. The backup process is disabled during the recovery so once the restore is complete you simply enable the backup job on the new hardware and the backup job will continue right where it left off with the original production system.Īlso how does it work in terms of moving licenses from one computer to another with Shadowprotect is it very restrictive? Basically what happens is the license on your (original) production system is carried with it when you restore to bare metal. If you're setting aside hardware for a bare metal recovery you do not need any additional licensing for that computer. I do have a question for you Steven if I want to have a computer put to the side and sit there for a quick restore of my backups for a fast RTO, would I need a separate license for that computer or would it be covered. Thank you for considering StorageCraft ShadowProtect for your DR solution.
